More Information

If a warning light illuminates on your dashboard, a diagnostic check can help identify the problem before more serious damage occurs.

Modern vehicles contain an or a number of onboard computers (usually called ECU or PCM) that monitor almost every aspect of your vehicle, if your vehicle detects a fault it generally sets a dashboard warning light which will resemble if not be one of these:

These tend to be set when one of the vehicle’s sensors detect a variance of readings compared to standard set parameters in the vehicles computer system, In short, if your car detects a problem it sets an active or stored Diagnostic trouble code and puts a light on the dashboard as a warning to the driver that it requires maintenance. Unfortunately, there are literally hundreds of different fault codes per control module on a car, That is where we come in…

When should you service your vehicle

Generally you service your vehicle every 10,000 miles or at 12 month intervals unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer (quite a few modern vehicles have an electronic service interval display which visually reminds you when the vehicle needs a service based on its mileage.)

Why service your vehicle

You service a vehicle to maintain the running life of its engine. Without a regular service an engine will begin to slowly fail as the longer you leave it until you replace the oil the more likely it is your oil will become over stressed and break down into a sludge that can very quickly result in complete engine failure.
